About the book:

This book contributes to the new field of sound acoustics in its application in the automotive industry. It outlines the main facts as well as highlights techniques to eliminate interfering sound and to simulate pleasant sound. A high emphasis is put on practical relevance.

About the autor:

After completing his studies, Klaus F. Steinberg started in 1970 as an engineer with Karman, a German car manufacturing company. He then moved to BMW where his responsibilities included series development, research and scenario development both in Germany and overseas. He also worked in project organisation, production- and concept planning. In 1994 he moved into automobile project management and lead the BMW team for interfering-sounds in the acoustics. Due to very little pre-existing research at the time, he concentrated on developing the physically scientific foundation for fighting disturbance through sounds at BMW.
